Here is solution for getting status bar back into action:
You will need to download an Addon named Status-4-Evar, this will add a status bar where you can add your other addons like search status etc.
This extension also provide Progress Meter, Status Text, Download Status etc. These toolbar addons can be moved as per your choice.

How to download Status-4-Evar
Go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/status-4-evar/
Click on + Add to firefox and you will find an popup, allow it and now you can find status bar back in your firefox.
If its not showing, you can restart your firefox browser.
